What are Direct Care positions?
CTH II Training Specialists (CTH II) and Mental Retardation Specialists (MRS) work in agency run group homes within our Residential Program. Habilitative Assistants work with individuals attending the agency's Adult Sheltered Workshop.
Are there educational and other requirements?
Yes. Each job description will include any job-specific requirements for your review before submitting your application; the information below is for reference only:

All employees must have valid SC Driver's License

CTH II Training Specialists must be 18 years of age or older, have a High School diploma or GED, or 21 years of age and have 2 years work experience in a human service field

Mental Retardation Specialists (MRS) must be 18 years of age or older and have a High School diploma or GED

Habilitative Assistants must be must be 18 years of age or older and have a High School diploma or GED or 23 years of age and have two years of work experience
Do I have to complete a separate application for each job in which I am interested?
Yes. Because each position is identified by a JOB NUMBER, you must submit one application for each position in which you are interested. Once you have submitted an application for a position, if you wish to be considered for another
position, we request that you submit another application. We also suggest that you keep copies of your original application or a record of the JOB NUMBER for which you have applied, to submit for future openings. Incomplete applications will be discarded. For your convenience, you may download the employment application; however, you must check the current vacancy listings for a current JOB NUMBER before submitting your application.
May I e-mail my application?
No. We are unable to accept e-mailed application at this time. You may, however, also submit your application by regular mail to: Berkeley Citizens, Inc., Attention: Human Resources, Post Office Drawer 429, Moncks Corner SC 29461. Additionally, applications faxed to 843-761-0303 will also be accepted.
May I submit only a resume?
No. All sections of the Berkeley Citizens, Inc. application must be completed. You may attach a resume to a completed application.
Will I be contacted regarding my application?
Due to the high volume of applications received in the Human Resources Department, we will not be able to contact individual applicants regarding the status of his/her application.
We will only contact an applicant if he/she is actively being considered for a position and an interview is being requested.
We are unable to provide detailed information as to the status of your application.
Your application is logged in and the forwarded to the department where you applied. The department where the vacancy exists will contact applicants who are selected for an interview.
You will only be contacted if you are selected for an interview. Please allow at least 2-3 weeks to be contacted, or check the vacancy listing for the position(s) for which you have applied. If the position is still listed, the vacancy still exists. If the position is not listed, the vacancy has been filled.
