to Apply for Services Once the eligibility screening process has been completed, Berkeley Citizens' Service Coordinators will be happy to help begin the intake process. Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am until 4:00pm. For People with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and Qualified Related Disabilities If you or a family member believe you have mental retardation, please call toll-free 1-800-289-7012. This toll-free line is staffed during normal business hours; however messages can be left at any time with calls returned in the next two business days. For People with Autism If you or a family member believe you have autism, please call toll-free 1-800-289-7012. This toll-free line is staffed during normal business hours; however messages can be left at any time with calls returned in the next two business days. For High Risk Infants and Toddlers If your child is 0-36 months, contact First Steps BabyNet toll-free at 1-800-868-0404. If your child is 3 - 6 years old, please call toll-free 1-800-289-7012. If your child meets the screening criteria, Berkeley Citizens' Early Interventionists will be happy to help you begin the intake and eligibility process. Head & Spinal Cord Injuries (HASCI) If you or a family member have a severe disability as a result of traumatic brain or spinal cord injury and would like to apply for services, please contact the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) Head and Spinal Cord Injury (HASCI) Division by telephone Toll Free: 1-866-867-3864.
